There are 14 competing standards, so we need to develop one universal standard. We now have 15 competing standards. Its like anything, some manufacturers will want to add extra non-standard things to their version so they will sell more than the competition. Any one remember the MSX home computer system, no. Well there you go. The only successful universal standard I can think of is the IBM compatible PC, but even then some have more glitches than others.]]></description>
